Gender Equality
Female empowerment in the area is unsatisfactory and Coco Labs is prioritizing female recruitment in our requirement. Our current staff carders represent 60% females and 40% males.
Age Restriction and Child Labor
Child labour is prohibited in any operations of the business and the duty allocations are depend on the age of the staff.
Optimum Concern over the Environment
The company is maintaining well-organized farming sites to absorb carbon emissions from the process. Solid and liquid waste is disposing under the local environmental policies and dust screening systems are introduced to prevent possible air pollution. The factory is solar-operated and equipped with efficient energy conservation.
Our Responsibility for Social Development
As a developing country, Sri Lanka has many underprivileged areas. Coco Labs is located in the North-Central Province of the country with non-optimized farming communities. Therefore, poverty is a highlighted aspect in the area. Coco Labs has taken responsibility of the livelihood development of the area and employment opportunities are dedicated to the surrounding communities.
Our social responsibilities are concentrated beyond the income generation of the surroundings but focus on the education development of the children. Every year, the company dedicates considerable income for the necessities and supplies to the surrounding students and facility development of the schools.
One of our signature CSR projects we conduct every year, donation of school exercise books and other important stationaries for the students of our own employess of our company.
Sinhalese New Year, generally known as Aluth Avurudda in Sri Lanka, is a Sri Lankan holiday that celebrates the traditional New Year of the Sinhalese people of Sri Lanka. It is a major anniversary celebrated by not only the Sinhalese people but by most Sri Lankans. We organize this celebration around our community to the villagers.
